Welcome to SLA′s home on the web!

Welcome to the official home of Stafford Lacrosse Association (SLA). SLA is a community based program providing lacrosse opportunities to the youth of Stafford County.  In conjunction with the Stafford County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities (PRCF) we are the official provider of recreational lacrosse in Stafford County.

SLA is a non-profit organization that is committed to the continued growth and expansion of lacrosse in the Stafford County and Quantico areas. SLA is also a member of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL).

SLA provides programs for boys and girls at all skill levels, from developmental to competitive play.  Players from beginner to experienced are assessed and placed on a team of peers.  The primary lacrosse season starts in February and ends in early June.  SLA also offers additional programs and clinics at other times of the year during the fall and winter.

SLA Equipment Sale

In an effort to help make lacrosse more affordable for the youth of Stafford County, SLA has acquired a significant amount of lacrosse equipment (helmets and shoulder pads) that we are making available to our members at greatly reduced costs.  Many of these items are new (never used), while some were used for only 1 season prior to our purchase.

SLA is committed to growing the sport in the Stafford area and making equipment available is one step toward that goal.  To browse, please visit the Equipment Exchange page on our site.  If you have good condition lacrosse gear to donate or sell, please consider SLA as a destination.

Please reach out to the Boys Commissioner at for more information.

Spring 2019 Registration NOW OPEN!!

Spring 2019 Lacrosse Season Registration Now Open!!

SLA has now opened registration for spring 2019 lacrosse programs.  As a result of our partnership with Stafford County Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, SLA is proud to announce we are once again able to reduce the overall cost of our programs, making lacrosse more affordable.  Additional details are available on the Boys and Girls Program pages.

An overview of our Spring 2019 programs is provided below:

Local Recreation division: The local recreational playing option will feature small-sided instruction and all practices and games in Stafford County.  This division is for new players as well as those looking for a more relaxed and instructional approach to lacrosse.  Season runs March through May and will consist of up to two practices per week and up to 6 games.

Program cost: $60 (+uniform, if needed)

Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL): The NVYLL is a group of 24 recreation associations throughout northern Virginia (from Spotsylvania County to Loudoun County) that band together to offer youth lacrosse at multiple skill levels.  This league is for more experienced players (minimum of 1-2 years of previous playing experience) seeking a broader exposure to the game and a more competitive recreational lacrosse experience.  Participation in the NVYLL levels of play consists of up to three practices per week, an 8-game regular season and a playoff experience.  Some games in this league are played outside Stafford County.  The season runs from mid-February (team assessments) through early June (playoffs).

Program Cost: $120 (+uniform, if needed)

Please check out the Boys and Girls program pages for more information and reach out to the SLA Boys or Girls Program Commissioners with questions at:
